With more adults seeking orthodontic treatment, alternatives to braces are extremely popular. In addition to being nearly invisible in your smile, aligners can be easily removed. This makes both eating meals and cleaning your teeth much easier than with braces. At Sequoia Dental Office, we offer the well-known Invisalign brand. However, it’s not your only choice for clear aligners in Visalia.
We offer an in-house alternative to Invisalign that offers the same advantages:
While you’ll enjoy these benefits, you’ll typically pay less for our solution. You can compare the two options during a free orthodontics consultation. Call 559-608-3533 today to schedule one.
Many general dental practices provide some kind of orthodontics, but it’s often a single solution. At Sequoia Dental Office, we know every smile is different. We offer multiple options to better serve your family’s needs, including the HealthyStart™ program for young children. The system, which involves wearing a series of appliances, lessens the need for future orthodontic treatment – and may even eliminate it. As a bonus, it helps your child breathe more easily while they sleep.
Besides HealthyStart and our own aligners, you can choose:

Clear aligners are made of clear, BPA-free plastic that fits very snugly over your teeth. Because they are so discreet, chances are most people won’t even notice you are wearing them. When you take them out, they look a bit like a very streamlined mouthguard. To avoid staining and preserve their clear appearance, you should take your aligners out when consuming anything other than water.
For the best results, you should only drink water while wearing your aligners. If you drink anything other than water, you risk staining them. In addition, bacteria is more likely to form while wearing your aligners, which increases your risk of tooth decay. Fortunately, it’s easy to take your aligners out if you want a drink other than water. If you can’t brush afterward, rinse your mouth with water before reinserting aligners.
Any time teeth are moved, there will be some discomfort. Because there are no metal wires and brackets to irritate your mouth, aligners are more comfortable than braces for most patients. Patients tend to notice discomfort most when switching to new aligners in the treatment series. We recommend first inserting new aligners right before bedtime, since you likely won’t notice discomfort while you sleep.
